Specifications & Care

All custom watercolor commissions are created on high-quality, acid-free watercolor paper using artist-grade pigments for color longevity. The background is kept simple and minimal to keep the focus squarely on your pet.

Display and Framing Guide for Watercolor Art:

Watercolor paintings must be displayed behind UV resistant glass and should be kept out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.

Shipping: Your picture will be shipped securely in an unframed state, and will be packaged and shipped securely. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout.

Matting Requirement: Please plan for a minimum of 2 inches of matting space all the way around the painting when calculating the hanging size.

Display and Framing Guide:

Oil paintings on panel do not require glass, but are designed to be framed.

• Framing: The wooden panel is ready to be placed directly into a standard or custom frame of your choice.

• Care: Keep the painting out of extreme temperatures and away from direct steam or water. A light dusting with a soft cloth is all that’s required.

• Timeline: Due to the material and detailed layering, please allow 6–10 weeks for completion (plus shipping time).

To preserve the quality and focus each portrait deserves, I accept only a select number of commissions per season. Each portrait is a deeply personal work of art, created with time, focus, and care. My waiting list often fills quickly, so early inquiries are always welcome.

Oil  portraits are painted on a wooden panel prepared with two coats of professional gesso.The background is kept simple and minimal to emphasize your pet’s expression and form. Each piece is finished with a protective layer of Gamvar Gloss varnish, adding a soft, even luster. Your painting will arrive unframed, fully dry to the touch, and ready to display (no glass needed), though it will continue to cure for several months. Your picture will be shipped securely with a certificate of authenticity, and shipment is calculated separately from the painting price.

The Payment, the Process, and shipping details

• Payment can be made through PayPal or Venmo once we have communicated about the plans for your painting.
• A nonrefundable deposit of half of the price of the painting reserves your place on the commissioned paintings list.
• Please read through the ebook to help you take/find the best photos possible of your pet. (The better the photo, the better I can paint your pet!)
• I will work with you to help pick out pictures that will make good references.
• Once the painting is started, I will send you an update to let you know I’ve begun.
• As I make progress I will send you a photo, and touch base with you before completing the painting so you have a chance to see how things are going. 
• I will send a brief video/reel of the final piece, at which time I will expect the final payment and the postage fee.
• After final payment and postage are received, the painting will be securely mailed to you through USPS mail with insurance and tracking. 
• You will receive a certificate of authenticity with your piece.
• Please note that, just like a musician’s music, I reserve the right to reproduce the image, and it may not be reproduced by anyone else without express permission.
